Journée du recyclage

Kabioca supports World Recycling Day

A day that is gaining momentum

March 18 is Global Recycling Day, a day during which strong messages are conveyed and concrete actions are launched to raise awareness among the general public and young people. Created by the Bureau of International Recycling in 2018, it has existed in the United States under the name “Global Recycling Day” since 1994. Today, it covers the following issues

  • avoiding landfill and incineration,
  • promoting reuse and 100% material recycling

A situation to be addressed at the global level

The Earth’s resources are limited and their consumption is accelerating at an unprecedented rate, with resources gradually running out. 2 billion tonnes of waste per year, or 740 grams per day per capita, is what the world’s growing population is currently producing. Progress has been made, and each year the recovery of discarded materials saves 700 million tonnes of CO2*. This is equivalent to the annual emissions of international aviation.

This same performance prevents the waste of natural resources and provides 40% of the world’s material needs. Households, industries, governments, companies of all sizes: everyone must be mobilised to respond to the urgency of the situation.

In France, efforts must be continued

In France, out of the 38 million tonnes of household waste discharged, only 35% of the recyclable materials are actually recycled. And so we can take a leaf out of Austria’s book, the world champion in this sector, which recycles 63% of the products it uses (a ranking of which France, with 35% of recycled materials, is 9th).

Consuming means making a choice that has an impact on the Earth and mankind. By buying, each consumer has the power to choose and to act for a more or less green planet. Faced with the slow implementation of adequate treatment structures for capsules containing all or part of plastic, lacquer and aluminium in addition to coffee, KABIOCA offers a solution of Nespresso compatible coffee capsules, 100% natural, biodegradable and compostable.

In addition, the coffee is organic and Rainforest Alliance certified. A respect for natural resources throughout the development chain of our product. We have made the practical, uncompromising choice of a good, organic and responsible coffee.

An opportunity to make a difference

Today’s World Recycling Day reminds us of the impact of recycling and what we can do to preserve our resources.

So we want to support and, in our humble way, highlight the work and initiatives of #GlobalRecyclingDay.

Why not become a #RecyclingHeroes for a day – organise a waste collection in a park or forest. Or a local round at the waste disposal centre?

Conviviality is also about sharing values and helping each other. And even if it’s cold outside you can always take a break with a coffee ?
